Chala- Theatre Revolve

Theatre Revolve is a collaboration among theatre and production companies that empowers female artists through the creation of live theatre, artistic training, mentorship and leadership development in dynamic projects of immediate impact and global implication, while establishing and strengthening local and international arts networks.

Short Bio: Chala Hunter has recently completed her studies at the University of Toronto in Drama and French Literature. Most recently seen in First Draft (Hart House Drama Festival/Best Performer/Best Production) and "Tough" (Factory Theatre as part of the Luminato Festival), she is on her way to the Saskatoon and Calgary Fringes with a show she created in collaboration with Sarah Warren. Chala plans to attend the National Theatre School in September and relish the Montreal way of living.

Where are you/What are you up to now?: workin. savin money to go to nts. and creating/rehearsing my show (buildings and bridges)for it's prairie fringe tour.

Why is Theatre Revolve important?: I believe in the challenges and the glory and the communion and the CHANGE that comes with bringing the voices and lessons and lives of many young women in one room together (and one that isn't a bathroom where everybody's fixin their hair and puttin on mascara).
